September 29th - October 3rd : What's Happening in Kindergarten This Week?

Conferences will be Friday, October 10th during the teacher workday.

Theme: Using Our Senses
Essential Question:
How do our senses help us learn about the world?

Read Aloud: Listen, Listen
Big Book: My Five Senses
Poetry: Poem About Senses

Comprehension Skills:
Target Skill - Compare  & Contrast
- Text and graphic features
Target Strategy: Monitor / Clarify

High Frequency Word: see (words so far.....I, like, the, and)

Phonological Awareness:
Blend Onset and Rime (a word that is separated orally ex. /m/  /at/ they say mat)
Fluency: Pause for punctuation
Phonics: Letter/ Sounds Short a

Vowels and Consonants

Vocabulary Strategies: Context Clues
Grammar: Sensory Words

Writing: Informative Writing
Focus Trait: Word Choice
We will be writing about our five senses this week


Math: 
I know my numbers 0-10.  (must know 0-30)     
I can count 10 objects and write how many.  ( must count 1-20)
I can tell if a group has the same, more or less.
I can represent a number.  Ex. Using a ten frame.  
I can count to 100.
